About Suffolk Cadet Squadron 10 Web Site The members of the Suffolk Cadet Squadron 10 of the Civil Air Patrol are dedicated volunteers who provide numerous services to both the state of New York and the nation. This web site shares who we are and highlights some of our missions and accomplishments.
A word from the Commander Benjamin Nodar, Captain, CAP
Welcome to the home of Suffolk Cadet Squadron 10, the official civilian Auxiliary of the United States Air Force -- the Civil Air Patrol. Please take a moment to explore the site, find out more about our program and see if you would like to join the team.
The basic community unit of Civil Air Patrol is the Squadron. There are three types of squadrons: Cadet (primarily comprised of youth members with senior supervisors), Senior (comprised solely of adult members), and Composite (having both a full cadet and a senior program in the same unit).
Long Island Group oversees the squadrons in Long Island. The Group Commander and his staff serve as a support team to assist the subordinate squadrons, providing additional oversight, training, and activity opportunities to helping to grow CAP. In turn the Group Commander reports to the New York Wing Commander.
The Civil Air Patrol has three basic missions that drive our activities: Cadet Programs, Emergency Services and Aerospace Education. All members, cadets and seniors, participate in all three aspects.
Squadron 10 meets every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Army National Guard Hangar at Long Island's MacArthur Airport in Islip.
Long Island Group HQ is located at Lincoln Avenue, in Holbrook. Group Commander's Call meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of the month with meetings starting 7:30PM. The Long Island Group Commander is Lt Col Jack Ozer.
